Just Who Do I Think I Am?

I’m sure by now you all know how much I swoon over retro fashion. (Remember this post? And this one?) But it’s been awhile since I’ve attempted to add actual vintage pieces to my wardrobe. (Five or six years ago I had a few less than ideal Ebay experiences with vintage clothing that convinced me to stick with buying what I know… )

Lately I find myself having a lot of Lucy Ricardo wardrobe fantasies.

With all of the adorable, reputable vintage shops now online, I’m considering taking the plunge and ordering a vintage dress or two.

Maybe something like this…

Or this…

Both Dresses Are Listed At Dorothea's Closet Vintage

But the real question is, can a modern mom of three pull this off? (And really, where would I wear these?) Just who do I think I am?

Do you own any vintage pieces? If so, how do you integrate them into the rest of your wardrobe? If you don’t, do you ever consider buying some?

  3. Of COURSE you can pull it off girl!!! I don't own any vintage pieces. I love some of them but I don't know if I can pull them off either. My sister is the vintage queen though!! I think everything she owns is vintage. They look amazing on her. :)

  4. Of course you can pull it off. I love that first dress! I have a few vintage skirts which I mix in with modern day blouses. I dream of getting a nice 50s or early 60s cocktail dress, though.

  6. You can DEFINITELY pull it off! I have a serious obsession with vintage fashion too. I don't own any vintage pieces, but I would so love to! I just don't know where to look. I must admit I'm a little intimidated by vintage stores because I feel like I don't know what I'm doing! Can't wait to hear how you vintage shopping turns out and if you have any tips for buying vintage!

  8. You could even wear the first dress with Converse tennis shoes, and go to the park with the kids. Really. You could.

  9. I have a hard time pulling off vintage dresses. The sizing is always off. So I stick with vintage shoes and jewelry. But both are very cute!!!
